Delete Your VoCalm Account
Last Updated: 2026-10-06
You can delete your VoCalm account at any time, in the app or on the website. Deleting your account removes everything in it from VoCalm. It is permanent and cannot be undone.
1. How to delete your account
In the app (iPhone, iPad and Android)
- Open VoCalm and sign in.
- Go to the Profile tab and tap Delete account, at the bottom.
- Type DELETE to confirm, then tap Delete Account.
On the website
- Sign in at vocalm.io.
- Open Profile from the menu at the top of the page.
- Under Danger Zone, choose Delete Profile.
- Type DELETE to confirm, then choose Delete Account.
Your account is deleted at once. If we cannot reach a payment provider to stop a plan, nothing is deleted and we ask you to try again later.
2. What is deleted
When you delete your account, we delete:
- Your voice recordings, and the audio of your journal narrations
- The transcripts of your conversations
- Your journal entries, with their summaries and tips
- Your mood and wellness scores, insights and patterns
- Your profile: your name, email address, birth date, bio and preferences
- Your conversation history and your conversation balance
- Your purchase records, from the website, the App Store and Google Play
- The addresses your devices use to receive VoCalm's notifications
3. What is kept
Nothing in VoCalm itself. VoCalm keeps no copy of your account or of anything in it, except:
- Copies in our backups, which are deleted on a rolling basis; for a limited period a backup may still hold them.
- Anonymous usage counts (for example "a conversation ended"), which are not linked to your account and say nothing about you. They are deleted after 13 months.
The payment companies keep their own records of your payments, under their own policies: Stripe for purchases on our website, Apple for the App Store and Google for Google Play.
Our AI provider, OpenAI, may keep what we sent it for your conversations, journal entries and narrations for up to 30 days to check for misuse, and then deletes it, unless the law requires it to keep it longer or it needs it longer to protect its service or others from harm.
4. Plans and subscriptions
- A plan bought on our website is cancelled immediately when you delete your account, and the current period is not refunded.
- A plan bought in the App Store is billed by Apple. Deleting your VoCalm account does not cancel it, and we cannot cancel it for you: cancel it in the App Store first.
- A plan bought on Google Play is billed by Google. When you delete your account we ask Google Play to stop renewing it; cancel it yourself on Google Play to be sure.
- Unused conversations are lost when your account is deleted. If you are eligible for a refund, ask for it before you delete your account (see the Refund Policy).
5. If you cannot sign in
If you can still receive email at the address of your account, the quickest way is to sign in and delete the account yourself, as described above.
If you no longer have access to the email address of your account, write to us and we will delete the account for you. We may ask you a few questions to confirm that the account is yours.
